When Enercity fell victim to a cyber attack exactly six months ago, the company had to act quickly at all levels and across all business areas. For the control and optimization of a large portion of its wind farms and the marketing of wind power, the nationwide energy service provider based in Hanover chose Husum-based ane.energy.
"With ane.energy, we had a quick supporter by our side when it came to optimally placing our renewable electricity in the market after the cyber attack," says Enercity CEO Susanna Zapreva. Within a few weeks, the service provider tailored the solutions modularly and flexibly to customer needs and connected 500 megawatts of Enercity's wind portfolio to ANE's Virtual Power Plant.
The temporary marketing of wind power for Enercity will expire at the end of June 2023, while the use of the Virtual Power Plant continues. Managing Director Ralf Höper of ane.energy: "We are pleased that we were able to support Enercity in this difficult situation and ensure the supply of their customer portfolios with green electricity."
