Strong Growth with New Dual Leadership - Oliver Ziegler Appointed as Commercial Managing Director of ANE

The year 2021 was the most successful year to date in ane.energy's young company history. Despite the pandemic, the green power trader's revenue reached €267m, and profitability improved once again: net profit doubled compared to the previous year. Both revenue and earnings significantly exceeded the original planning. The first quarter results from the current fiscal year impressively continue this positive trend. The expansion of nationwide B2B sales activities, particularly with physical and virtual PPA contracts, as well as the first significant contributions from trading operations, provide an optimistic forecast.

Not only due to ane.energy's massive growth but also because of the increasing dynamics in the energy market, Oliver Ziegler will complete the management team. The 42-year-old business graduate has successfully led the "Finance & Controlling" department at ANE since 2019 and has significantly contributed to the company's success.

Previously, Oliver Ziegler worked at KPMG auditors and held senior positions in the finance departments of various international corporations: "The experience from other industries benefits us, among other things, in the digital optimization and continuous scalability of our complex commercial processes with their extensive requirements from the energy industry," says Ziegler.

Together with founding managing director Ralf Höper, he will now lead the northern German direct marketer from July 2022. Höper continues to be responsible for Sales, Trading, and IT.

The company is now to be prepared for innovative future topics such as flexibility markets and hydrogen trading. "Together with our powerful team, we want to master the new challenges, take advantage of opportunities in the turbulent energy market, and ensure the necessary profitability," Höper and Ziegler (pictured right) explain the joint outlook at the company headquarters in Husum.
